Wisdoms

I've been away, and often teams or individuals will take the time at the start to get back to the basics that form the rock solid foundation that they can build on. I like my nuggets of eternal wisdom small to start.

Winston Churchill has this to say about what I call "wisdoms".
"It is a good thing for an uneducated man to read books of quotations. Bartlett's Familiar Quotations is an admirable work, and I studied it intently. The quotations when engraved upon the memory give you good thoughts. They also make you anxious to read the authors and look for more"

So I suggest heading over to Wikiquote and look at some of the investment wisdom of people like Benjamin Graham, Peter Lynch, David Dreman, John Bogle, and Warren Buffet

As you head into the tax preparation and filing time ahead, it's always good to remember stoically Benjamin Franklin's words, "In this world, nothing is certain, but death and taxes."

And finally my wish to all of us who realize that no amount of planning will take care of the events that will be part of our experiences ahead and wouldn't mind some unexpected fortune coming our way, is as Woody Allen said: "If only God would give me some clear sign! Like making a large deposit in my name in a Swiss bank"
